The 2010 season is certainly underway in Springboro, but some former Panthers are making their marks and letting their presence be known at the college level.
Jake Dwyer, last year’s GWOC South Defensive Player of the Year is enrolled at the University of Albany and is currently listed as a red-shirt linebacker. Jake has twice been named the Scout Team Player of the Week for U of A.
Antoin Campbell, the 2008 GWOC South Offensive Player of the Year and Honerable Mention All-Ohio tailback in 2009 is also redshirted in 2010. Antoin is a tailback at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Antoin is the brother of current Springboro Panther Jalen Campbell.
Taylor Franz is attending the University of Charleston in West Virginia. Taylor has played significantly in the early part of the season for Charleston at the runningback and tight end positons.
Ben Runchey received an appointent to the Merchant Marine Academy located in Long Island, New York. Ben has landed the starting right tackle positon and is doing well.
Blake McCoy is on the Furhman University roster and is listed as a redshirt freshmen.
The Springboro football program is proud of these young men as they pursue their careers in college football and continue to represent the Springboro football family very well.
